USB VCR Converter Launches 0

VHS tapes were rubbish. Dodgy tracking, limited lifespan, slow spools, below par quality, etc, etc. But we all have some classics lying around on tape somewhere taking up space and serving as as annoying analogue reminder of the past.

Firebox want to help clear your cupboard space with the launch of the USB VCR converter, an "idiot-proof" video player that allows you to convert long-forgotten VHS footage to nice clean digital files.

The claim is it's so simple you just stick the vid in, press play and select the format you want it to copy to - with iPod-, PSP- and DVD-friendly format all available.

The player comes complete with the necessary software, a remote control and USB cable. It's on pre-order now for an end of June delivery for £150.

But they beat DVDs in one HUGE way. With VHS you slot the tape in, press play and away you go. No being forced to view the movie company logs _every_ time you watch a tape, simply wind past it. No bl••dy silly navigation screens and no user manual that requires a physics degree and three weeks to understand. VHS may be lo-tech, but far more user-friendly for all ages.
