iPhone-friendly FM transmitter

Griffin Technology has launched the first iTrip compatible with the iPhone, giving users the chance to play any of the music stored on their mobile straight through their car's FM stereo.

The iTrip AutoPilot charges and controls your iPhone or iPod while playing your songs on the move.

Compatible with iPhone and all dock-connecting iPod models, the control unit plugs directly into the 12v power port in your car while connecting to your iPhone or iPod through the dock connector.

SmartScan technology scans the radio to find the three best FM frequencies through which to play your tracks then saves them automatically to three programmable presets.

Once your tracks are playing, song details will be shown on your RDS-enabled car radio display, while the control unit offers tactile buttons to let you play, pause, skip tracks and control volume with ease.

The control unit also features a light ring, which will show red, yellow or green according to how fully charged your iPhone or iPod is.

The iTrip AutoPilot with Smartscan is priced at £59.99 and is available from Apple stores.
