GTA IV sold 3.6 million copies on its first day of release, and yet according to Glenn Beck, CNN pundit and all round moral crusader, its "infiltration" into society is going to bring violence and murder down upon us all.

His rant on his prime time US show has got gamers gossiping around the world.

Beck claims that GTA IV is offering kids a kind of military training with the plethora of weapons they learn to use on the game.

And it's instilling in them violent tendencies which they will unlease upon American society.

"We're training our kids to be killers", he quips.

Cue other rants from the righteous right, and numerous tales of teenagers gone bad after hours of game playing (no mention of course of their violent upbringing nor the ease with which little Tony from Tennessee manages to procur a shotgun).

Your opinions please on a back of a postcard to the usual address.

  • The game is rated 18+ ... ADULTS ONLY.
How hard is it to read the PEGI-rating that's on the ff-ing box for the game ?
It's not even targeting kids ...
At best it is training adults to use weapons, although I never knew that weapons automagically locked onto targets or that getting shot can be cured by eating a burger or hotdog ...
