Social networking giant MySpace has had its myspace.co.uk domain seized by an appeals panel, and ownership passed back to an ISP in Stockport.

Total Web Solutions registered the co.uk domain 11 years ago and 2 years before MySpace launched, but Nominet ruled in February that it hand to be handed over to MySpace, that's owned by Rupert Murdoch's News Corp.

"We refused to be bullied by one of the largest media organisations in the world", says the Total Web Solutions' MD Paul Fallon.

"This has been a very stressful case for a legitimate medium sized ISP to have to take on - but we had to defend our reputation and to stand up for what was right."

Dissatisfied with the process, Total Web Solutions and its legal representatives are now questioning whether the Domain Resolution Service should be operated from within Nominet.
