Apple Orders 10 Million 3G iPhones 0

We know that there will be a 3G version of the iPhone eventually, the question is when the second generation model will arrive.

Although a 2008 launch is seen as almost certain by many, when in the year the beefed up device will make its debut is a matter for speculation with May, and the iPhone's anniversary in June, both suggested in the past.

Gartner analyst Ken Dulaney, who is the firm's iPhone expert, says according to rumours he has "become aware of in Asia" Apple has already placed orders for 10 million 3G iPhones, suggesting the launch will be sooner rather than later.

In a phone interview with iPod Observer, Dulaney speculated that the 3G version would boast an OLED screen. Not a strong rumour for the next-gen model, but logical in the sense that it would save some of the energy that the power hungry 3G chip would drain.

All rumours and speculation for now, we'll keep you informed...
