CES 2008: Magellan drives 5 new RoadMate's into view

Entry-level models that aren't going to break any moulds

Aside from launching a GPS receiver with built-in Google Local support, Magellan has been busy launching five new additions to its RoadMate series of satnav's at CES in Las Vegas.

The new RoadMate 1400 series will consist of three GPS units that will be an entry-level offering and come with a 4.3-inch touchscreen and the option of live traffic features. A free 3-month subscription to Magellan Traffic Service is included.

In adtition to the 1400 series, the company has announced the 1200 series which although sports a smaller screen size comes with a more expensive price tag. It will be made up of the RoadMate 1200, RoadMate 1212 and RoadMate 1230.

All five models offer 2D and 3D map views with auto day/night mode switching.
