Intel shows concept iPhone running on Moorestown platform

Could be yours in 2010

At the ongoing Intel Developer Forum the chip-giant has, perhaps unsurprisingly, been talking up some future technology.

The "Moorestown" processor was revealed, not realistically about to hit the market until 2009 or 2010, Intel described this as the chip the iPhone would have wanted.

With 45nm processor and integrating a memory controller, video encode/decode engine and graphics all on a single chip it will allow concept products like the device shown, to become a reality.

A super-slim UMPC with phone capablities, this touchscreen device, apparently a deliberate homage to Apple, could run for 24 hours between charges.

  • At Videography Lab we have consistently predicted industry trends . . . from Adobe's acquisition of Macromedia eons ago to the new 1080 30p standard that is enabling SDHC digital still photo camcorders to compete with camcorders for future videography devices.

The biggest issue we foresee in the mobile market place is making the little machines tough and waterproof. Yes waterproof !!

We have conducted extensive field testing on the Canon Optio W30 waterproof still / movie camera and it shows the way for iPhone and iTablet to become really a staple in "the age of videography".

Families want to take their pix and movies at the seashore and on the ski slopes. They do not want to worry about a few drops of water destroying a device that costs a few weeks wages to buy. Waterproofing is easy if you follow the Pentax Optio W30 model. The iPhone for certain could seal up it's touch screen chassis and add Blue Tooth for access by external devices. Bingo!

Waterproof and nothing less. Don't forget that you got it first from Videography Lab.
