HP has massively extended their iPAQ range with a product launch blitz at a special event in New York that saw 56 handheld-related introductions to HP's offerings.Five new iPAQ mobile device series were announced - including two ranges of 3G PDA phones. The new iPAQs come under the 100, 200, 300, 600 and 900 series.
As well as the five mobile devices, also new are five mobile software programs, 12 new mobile services and almost three dozen handheld accessories.
We will cover the iPAQ devices separately, and in much more detail, but for now here's a highlights overview of what should be coming our way soon.
- The HP iPAQ 900 Series Business Messenger is a 3G phone with QWERTY keyboard.
- The HP iPAQ 600 Series Business Navigator is a two-in-one 3G phone and navigation device.
- The HP iPAQ 300 Series Travel Companion (pictured) is a handheld GPS device for business and personal travel featuring graphics acceleration and available 3D maps.
- The HP iPAQ 200 Series Enterprise Handheld is described as a powerful, large screen PDA with Wi-Fi that is well-suited to run a broad range of business applications.
- The HP iPAQ 100 Series Classic Handheld boats a big screen, simple syncing with personal content and Wi-Fi connectivity, HP say its an affordable PDA and an ideal phone companion.
- The HP Enterprise Mobility Suite provides mobile device management capabilities that ease device deployments and management within the enterprise.
- HP iPAQ Custom Touch can preloads iPAQ devices with custom applications, themes and settings for enterprise customers
- HP iPAQ location-based service is a web destination where users can personalise their trip plans, map content and update device software.
- HP Total Care is a suite of services to help iPAQ customers design, manage and implement business mobility, with application mobilisation, one-stop help desk, and leasing and lifecycle management.
- HP iPAQ Mobile Broadband Connect lets users access the Internet on an HP notebook or PC through a tethered iPAQ 3G phone for high-speed mobile broadband connectivity.
