It's being reported that Sony has been caught editing Wikipedia pages relating to rival Xbox 360 content.

The newly developed tool WikiScanner, that reveals who is editing what on online encyclopedia Wikipedia, showed that a page edit was made by an IP that traces back to Sony Computer Entertainment Europe's Liverpool studios.

The Wiki entry was about Halo 3, the forthcoming, already record-breaking game that is highly anticipated by Xboxers.

According to VNU, the original entry stated: "Halo 3, the third game in the best-selling Xbox game franchise Halo, is a highly anticipated first-person shooter video game under development by Bungie Studios for the Xbox 360 and is expected to 'set a new high water mark' for next-generation games".

A sentence was then added which read: "Although it won't look any better than Halo 2".

The Sony lot are fast - the revision was made less than 40 minutes after the original entry went live. The edit has since been removed and Wikipedia has "locked" the page down.
