Akvis launches update to framing software

Christmas themed frames are amongst the additions to the latest version of Akvis Frame Suite.

The new update is Frame Suite v2.6, which is suitable for both Windows and Mac platforms.

The program applies frames and edge effects to pictures, including new Christmas decorations for creating festive cards.

The collection of edge effects now includes 12 designs and a pattern library from which users can create their own frames.

The programme asks you to select a colour for the frame; choose its form, its style, brightness, and the intensity of the applied edge effect.

You can create a frame with ragged edges, scratched surface, a page curl, or it can be a wooden frame with figured carving or a frame with an ornament, explains the programmer.

Users can also add their own designs from scratch by uploading a square or rectangular pattern as a graphic file and then using it to generate an original photo frame.

The program is available in two versions – as a standalone program and as a plug-in to photo editing packages including Adobe Photoshop, Photoshop Elements, Corel Painter, Corel Photo-Paint, and Paint Shop Pro, ACD FotoCanvas, and Ulead PhotoImpact.

Akvis Frame Suite is priced $49 and is downloadable from the Akvis website.

A fully functional free 10 day trial is also available here.
