VIDEO: Ties made from tape cassettes still play audio
Alyce Santoro and Julio Cesar offer men's ties made from recycled cassette tapes. Rather than just offering retro - and eco - appeal, the ties have a very unusual feature.
Made from 50% tape cassette tape and 50% polyester thread, it seems the tape retains some audio information - at least enough to be played via a hand-made reader.
Hit play on the video above to see a walk-through of how to make such a device from an old Walkman (complete with creepy sounds) while the ties are available in various designs at Supermarket for $90 each.
Thanks to Chris for the tip.
