Sony will announce the launch of its latest Digital SLR camera this week a number of sources close to the company have confirmed to Pocket-lint.

First reported on at PMA in Las Vegas in March after Sony said they were working on a new camera apart of its Alpha range, the internet has been awash with leaked specs, names, images.

We are expecting news of the new camera thought to be an entry-level model, to land at the end of the week.

Last month, in the post on the Sony Alpha site, Mark Weir, senior technology and marketing manager for Alpha and Cyber-shot digital cameras said; "It won’t be much longer!".

If the sources are correct, it won't be much longer indeed. We will keep you posted.
