Plants vs Zombies arrives in free online version

The smash hit casual game Plants Vs Zombies, which showed up earlier in the year, has been turned into a free Flash game by developers PopCap. It's available to play now on the company's website.

If you've not given it a go, you have to place plants in your garden to defend against hordes of zombies lurching slowly towards you. It's an interesting alternative take on so-called Tower Defence games which have proved popular.

For the web, PopCap is letting you have a crack at 14 levels of the full game, complete with 12 different plants, 5 zombie types from the original game and one special new type exclusive to the flash version. You get access to Adventure, Endless Survival and Vasebreaker modes.

If you'd like to give it a shot, it's available right now for free on PopCap's site - there's a link below.
