IFA 2007: Garmin launches Nuvi 700 GPS Satnavs

New widescreen version hits the news

Garmin has announced a new Satnav device at IFA 2007 in Berlin, Germany hot on the heals of the TomTom 920 T.

The new range of devices called the nuvi 700 series will come in four different options to suit different types of drivers.

The device will sport a 4.3-inch colour touchscreen display (480 x 272 pixels) and feature a built-in FM transmitter, Bluetooth and Text-to-speech. All models will come with lifetime subscription for Traffic data, plus feature Speed camera data so drivers can avoid getting caught.

The Garmin nüvi 700 variations are as follows:

The nüvi 710 has regional mapping (UK and Ireland or other region) with Bluetooth
The nüvi 750 has UK and European mapping
The nüvi 760 has UK and European mapping with Bluetooth
The nüvi 770 has mapping for the UK, Europe and the United States with Bluetooth

The nüvi 710, 750, 760 and nüvi 770 are expected to be available in October 2007 at an MSRP of £279.99, £369.99 and £449.99, the nüvi 750 is not available in the UK.
