Epson claims photography perfection with the V600 scanner

Epson has updated is V series of photo and film scanners with the Epson Perfection V600. It can copy and restore prints and negatives - including 35mm, medium format, panoramic film and mounted slides - at a resolution of 6400dpi and works 1.5 times faster than the previous models.

The ReadyScan LED technology also means that the V600 has as little power consumption as possible and eliminates warm up time, which is very handy if you need to scan and go in a hurry. The other internal wizardry of note is "DIGITAL ICE" which is responsible for cleaning up the dust and scratches from your older films and prints in order to help restore your snaps to their former glory.

There are three settings to suit all levels of ability with varying degrees of help from the intelligent auto functions - either Auto, Home or Professional - and it supports both Windows 7 and Snow Leopard as well as older OSs too. The V600 is out to buy from 5 October and RRPs at £215.31.
