Magellan 4200 and 3200 series satnavs launched

Magellan has announced a second generation of its Maestro series of car satnavs.

The new models, going under the series name of Maestro 4200 and Maestro 3200 series will be 17.8 mm thick and just 82.5 mm tall and come with a 4.3-inch or 3.5-inch QVGA screen

The Maestro 4200 series will be made up of the 4250 and the 4220. Models will feature a 4.3-inch widescreen display, come with speech recognition commands like the TomTom and feature Bluetooth connectivity for handsfree voice calling. The satnav units will be available from October and prices will be $499 and $449 in the US. A UK price has yet to be announced.

The Maestro 3200 series will be made up of the 3250, the 3220, and the 3200. Models will feature a 3.5-inch QVGA screen and pre-loaded maps. Available in the US in September, the 3250 will cost $349, the 3220 $299, and the 3200 $269.
