SlingMedia, the company behind the SlingBox multimedia streaming solution, has updated its iPhone App to 1.1, and has submitted it to Apple for approval.

The previous version of the software, which showed up in May, only allowed streaming over Wi-Fi, but the new version appears to enable 3G streaming. That means you'll be able to watch and control your home TV from your phone anywhere that there's 3G coverage - not just in Wi-Fi hotspots.

The app will only works with the two most recent devices from the company, the SOLO and PRO, and costs £18. It's now up to Apple as to whether it approves the video streaming app. We'll keep you posted.
