New Wi-Fi enabled offering

Toshiba has launched their new addition to their Gigabeat line-up of multimedia players in Japan.

The T401 is slim at 9.9mm, boasts a 2.4-inch 320 x 240 display screen, up to 4GB of flash memory and plays WMV video, MP3 and WMA files.

Its big selling point is 802.11b/g Wi-Fi connectivity which sounds brilliant on paper, as does Toshiba's latest H2C audio processing technology.

Battery life comes in at 16 hours for music and 5 hours for video and it hooks up to your PC via USB and works with Windows Media Player 10/11.

Due to be on sale in Japan on October 5th for about £125, there's also a cheaper non Wi-Fi offering - the 401S available in three different colours.
