Acer announces Aspire One Pro 531

Acer has revealed a business-oriented version of its Aspire One netbook, which by virtue of its early release was one of the more popular of the first wave of netbooks.

The Pro 531 improves on its predecessors in a number of ways. First, it doesn't have the slightly toy-like feel of the original Aspire One - the company says that it's gone for a more sleek, refined feel.

Then there are the specs. An Atom processor is paired with up to 2GB of RAM and either a 160/250GB hard disk or a 64GB SSD. The screen is 10.1 inches across, and there's all the card reader/headphone socket/3 USB port shenanigans that you'd expect from a netbook.

The company is promising a 3G version within a couple of months, but it comes with Wi-Fi b/g. OS-wise, you can get it for between £300 and £460, depending on the OS and the size of the hard disk.
