Orange opens "Community Store" in Wales

Orange has announced the launch of three new retail formats that it says could "change Orange’s retail presence on the high street".

As the first Orange HMV concessions opened up across the country, the new store formats include a "Community Store" opened today in Monmouth while a "Multimedia Store" is planned to open in Milton Keynes in September.

Orange says the Community Store "provides support where people can drop in for a cup of coffee and advice about their telecommunications needs".

The shop will offer a modern kitchen and seating area to create "a homely feel", while a notice board will be on display to keep people up-to-date with the latest local news and events.

In addition, there will be "community workshops", described as like coffee mornings offering support an advice on topics such as "mobile and internet safety for children" or "how to make the most of your mobile phone".

September will see the launch of Orange's first Multimedia Store, aimed at tech-savvy consumers and described as an interactive store that encourages visitors to test Orange’s latest products and entertainment services.
