Epson to offer TX510FN world's most eco-friendly printer
Epson is set to unleash its Stylus Office TX510FN upon the world in a couple of months, but we’ve gotten our hands on some early details about this all-in-one device and it looks set to save a lot of money on electricity for those that leave their printer on standby, as it only draws a mere 0.25W in standby mode.
87% of the printer can also be recycled, to further its environmental friendliness. Epson claims that this makes the TX510FN the most environmentally-friendly commercially available printer to date.
The TX510FN is a fairly feature packed all-in-one printer and it should appeal to anyone who’s looking for an affordable printer for the smaller office.
Apart from being able to print up to 38 pages a minute at 5760 x 1440 dpi, it also has a 1200 x 2400 dpi scanner with a 30 page automatic document feeder. It also has a built in colour fax, an Ethernet port for attaching it to the office network for easy sharing and a two line status LED display.
Cost-wise it’s also quite affordable with a retail price which should be around £109. Considering that the current equivalent model is selling for £130, it looks like a pretty good deal for those that are looking for an energy saving and environmentally friendly all-in-one inkjet printer.
UPDATE: Epson has got in touch with Pocket-lint to say that this printer will not be available in the UK. The closest product in the UK is the Epson Stylus Office BX310FN, which is Energy Savings Recommended.
