BioShock not coming to PS3

Sticking with Xbox 360 and PC

BioShock makers 2K Games have confirmed that they won't be releasing a PS3 version of the underwater first person shooter.

In an interview with gaming website Joystiq, Ken Levine, the lead designer for the game said that:

"There is no PS3 version of BioShock in development or planned."

The news is likely to be welcomed by Microsoft looking to score an edge over Sony's console in the months up to Christmas.

PS3 fans had hoped a version would be making its way onto the console following hints in the games PC code released at the same time as the Xbox 360 version.

"I promise you, there is no secret plan about the PS3 that we're keeping from people", said Levine in the interview.

"There's no PS3 development going on that we're hiding. There's lots of stuff that gets into game code, plans change over time and we got an exclusive deal with Microsoft ... that's not a Rosetta Stone discovery."
