Canon update Ixus range with Ixus 50 and Ixus 700

Canon has announced two new Ixus models today; the Ixus 50 and the Ixus 700. The Ixus 700 will feature 7.1 megapixel resolution, 3x optical zoom, 2in LCD and 20 scene modes.

The Ixus 50 will feature 5 megapixel resolution, a 3x optical zoom, a 2in LCD display and a total of 10 shooting modes

Both models feature a new technology by Canon which will allow you to pre-select a colour strengths in what Canon are calling its MyColour mode. There will be four modes available; Vivid Green, Vivid Red, Vivid Blue and Custom colour. Custom Colour will allow users to replace one colour with another

Both models will also have the same DIGIC II image processor as in the EOS range.

The IXUS 50 will be available from early April 2005 for £319 while the IXUS 700 will be available from late March 2005 for £399.
