Apple iPhone users struggle to get new 3.0 update
Apple users in their droves have failed to be able to get the latest version of Apple's iPhone and iPod touch software, as Apple's servers became overwhelmed with users trying to get the latest 3.0 software.
Users from around the globe found themselves receiving the "we could not complete your itunes store request" error message as they tried to get the new software and features on their iPhone or iPod touch.
"... aaaand of course the activation server is slammed, so you can't actually do the update. But by God it's live ..." Rusty from the US confirmed in a comment to Pocket-lint.
Others like Twitter user willCosgrove echoed the sentiment as people flooded Twitter with frustrated messages:
"Can't install iPhone OS 3 because of apple validation servers! What is this? Always dissapointing me apple... always..."
At the time of writing Apple and iPhone related topics covered six of the ten most popular trending topics on twitter.
The news that Apple's servers have been flooded with requests for the new software is unlikely to come as a surprise to some with thousands of users and Apple fans eager to get new features like MMS and Cut, Copy and Paste on their handsets.
The software update went live just after 6pm in the UK, however Apple was unavailable to comment at the time of writing.
