Olympus has updated its tough-guy SW offering again - this time it's the [mju:] 790 SW that wants you to push it to the extreme.
Shockproof against falls from 1.5 metres and waterproof to a water pressure equivalent of 3 metres, this newest addition to Olympus' popular line is also freezeproof to -10 degrees.
This 7.1-megapixel camera is available in a choice of four colours - starry silver, midnight black, sunset orange or marine blue.
Technical innovations for this model include Face Detection Technology and the new TruePic III image processor that claims to deliver the truest colour reproduction, improved noise performance and faster overall camera speed
Other stats to note are the 3x optical zoom, 23 scene modes and 2.5-inch HyperCrystal LCD, but, as with this camera's predecessors, it's the tough, chuck-it-around and don't need to worry qualities that will sell this model.
The Olympus µ [mju:] 790 SW will be available from September 2007 at around £200.
