Panasonic has announced the release of two new camcorders, the HDC-SD10 and the HDC-TM10 that, at 227 grams, Panasonic claims are the world’s lightest full high definition camcorders.

Capable of recording 1920 x 1080 HD images and offering 16x optical zoom, touchscreen control, iA with AF tracking and "Advanced Optical Image Stabiliser", there's also face detection, "Intelligent Contrast Control" and an intelligent scene selector, which claims to determine the shooting conditions and automatically selects the scene setting that will provide optimal results.

The SD10 and TM10 differ by their recording format, with the SD10 recording to SD/SDHC memory card up to 32GB, while the TM10 offers 8GB built in memory and SD/SDHC memory card recording.

Panasonic’s HDC-SD10 and HDC-TM10 are available from June, pricing, in Panasonic's online e-shop is £529.99 for the HDC-TM10 and £499.99 for the HDC-SD10.
