Following the news we brought you of new BlackBerrys code-named Onyx, Driftwood and Magnum, one of the devices is now rumoured to be closer to launch.

US blog Boy Genius Report has it from several sources that T-Mobile in the States will be offering a 3G-enabled BlackBerry 9600 series from around September, contrary to previous reports that suggested AT&T as the exclusive operator.

Thought to be either the Drfitwood or the Onyx, the new QWERTY smartphone is said to boast HSPDA and UMTS connectivity, a 3.2-megapixel autofocus camera, GPS, Wi-Fi, an optical trackpad and a carbon fibre-esque back battery cover.

We will keep you posted.
