The BBC is to bring its flagship natural world documentary series Planet Earth to HD DVD and Blu-ray this autumn, the Corporation has announced.

Rather than choose just one format, the Beeb has chosen to launch the series, narrated by Sir David Attenborough, to both formats on 22 October.

The five disc HD collection, which will cost £49.99, will feature 11 50-minute episodes and comes complete with just two extras; Desert Lions and Snow Leopard from the BBC series Natural World.

The Beeb is also announcing Hotel Babylon (series 1), Bleak House, Galapagos and Twenty Thousand Streets Under the Sky. Robin Hood (series 1) will be able on the 29th October.
