Nokia today announced that its pioneering UK Flagship Store is scheduled to open in London's Regent Street in November
2007.

Designed to "set the benchmark in technology retailing through the creation of an upscale, high-energy environment", the Nokia Flagship Store promises the ultimate shopping experience for Nokia's portfolio of mobile devices.

Simon Ainslie, Managing Director for Nokia UK commented: "In championing the Nokia brand, the Nokia Regent Street store will be dynamic, original and beautifully designed".

"The store will provide world-class customer service and deliver a unique experience enhancing our customer's lifestyles."

"The Nokia Flagship Store pioneers new technologies and techniques, setting a new standard in the retail world as a whole."

"At the Nokia Regent Street store, consumers will be able to test the latest Nokia mobile phones and multimedia computers, and learn about new mobile services and technologies in a comfortable, cutting-edge environment."

The store experience will apparently begin with a vivid "Nokia blue" storefront.

Then, "inspired by the forests of Finland", the flooring and ceiling will be silvered birch, making a direct reference to Nokia's Finnish heritage.

The interior will be distinguished by the use of perimeter LCD screens and dynamic translucent walls back-lit by mood-evoking LEDs.

Unlike conventional mobile phone merchandising, all Nokia devices will be live, set-up with the device's own particular dedicated features and services and will be ready for use.

When a consumer picks up a phone that is directly positioned below the LCD screen, it will automatically activate a pop-up screen that interacts and navigates the consumer through the device features, functioning as a hands-on Nokia product tutorial.

The Regent Street location will also house Nokia's prestigious luxury line, Vertu, in a uniquely styled lounge.

Nokia Regent Street is the eighth store to be launched as part of the Nokia Flagship Store project which is being rolled out globally across 18 locations.

  • this is a horrible shop... People working inside are rude, don't know more than you about the products, they do not care, they love swinging keys and ID chains with chewing gum in the mouth. Nobody approaches you, everyone is best at avoiding questions and customers.
I went in to ask a simple question, and I was told to go to Carphone Warehouse altough my enquiry was totally Nokia E51 related.
I suggest Nokia close this shop and save money.. It is not only waste of money (the rent, rates, staff, NIC...) but it is also bad publicity for the brand...
Of course if any one cares ....
