There was a time I wouldn't have dared look twice at a site called Wicked Uncle for fear of what it might contain, but times move on and (in a desperate attempt to be down wiv da yoof) I have brushed up on the modern vernacular and realised (with much relief) that "wicked" now officially means "excellent".

Apparently "cool" is now being replaced by "book" as that's what mobiles' predictive texting spits up as the preferred option, but I'm not going to attempt to keep up with it all.

Anyway, back to the site.

It's a great solution for those times, increasingly common in my experience, when you're stuck for present ideas for kids.

Type in the ankle biter's gender, age and roughly how much you want to spend and the site does the rest, giving you more time down the pub where you can really concentrate on being wicked, in the old-fashioned sense of the word.
