Obama gives the Queen a personalised iPod

Tech-loving American president Barack Obama has given the Queen a high-tech gift as the two met this week at Buckingham Palace.

Obama presented Queen Elizabeth with an Apple iPod, personalised with pre-loaded content and an engraved inscription.

The now-royal MP3 player contained 40 songs, apparently all "classic" show tunes, including several from "Camelot" and "My Fair Lady", as well as video footage of her 2007 visit to Virginia.

In return the Queen gave Barack Obama a signed portrait of herself and Prince Philip.

The Queen is reported to already own at least one iPod (loaded with "patriotic tunes" according to Hello magazine), as well as a BlackBerry.
