Samsung's first Android phone revealed

Samsung's forthcoming Android-based mobile phone has been revealed in slide show presentation at a dealer event in Amsterdam.

With a blurry pic, and even blurrier translated specs, it's the first glimpse of what the Korean company is planning to kickstart the launch of its Android portfolio.

A candybar phone with a "large" display, the phone gets a capacitive touchscreen, similar to that seen in the iPhone.

The device is 3G with two versions expected to cater for the US and Euro/Asian markets. The phone has a camera, said to be either 3.2 or 5 megapxiels, a 528MHz processor and microSD card slot.

Other specs are said to be Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, and what you'd expect from an Android device in terms of email and internet.

Thanks to Tim for the tip. We will keep you posted.
