Apple has finally approved an application it had mistakenly initially rejected for displaying "offensive language".

Twitter tool Tweetie's 1.3 update had been refused by Apple's App Store approval team as its Twitter trend search view - created from Twitter content - showed swear words.

This move saw Apple criticised even further for its App Store approval process, something that has already drawn negative feedback from the developer community.

It seems now that Apple has seen the error of its rejection and the 1.3 update will go ahead to be available as an iPhone and iPod touch application.
