Motorola Enterprise Mobility has announced its latest Enterprise Digital Assistant, the MC55, describing it as a small, ruggedised device for mobile and field workers.
Apparently the smallest and lightest of such Moto offerings, the Windows Mobile 6.1 device offers EDGE and GPRS connectivity as well as Bluetooth, GPS and a camera.
On the business apps side of things, there a "full suite of communication and data recording technologies", a barcode scanner and push-to-talk, walkie-talkie-type functionality.
Said to be rugged, the new handset has met Motorola's "drop and tumble" testing and is IP54 sealed against the elements.
Available in two models, the MC5590 EDA offers wireless LAN and Bluetooth, whereas the MC5574 EDA comes equipped with wireless WAN, wireless LAN and Bluetooth.
