LaCie turns USB drive into a key
For storage hounds looking to take files with them on the go, LaCie has launched what it believes is the ideal solution. The company famous for its desktop hard drives has announced that it will be launching three USB drives that are designed to look like your house keys so you can attach them to your key ring for memory on the go.
The LaCie itsaKey and iamaKey (pronounced "it's a key" and "I am a key") drives will be water- and scratch-resistant with a gold SIP (that's the connector) and come in memory sizes up to 8GB.
“Following the popularity and usefulness of flash memory today, LaCie merged the ubiquitous USB interface with a very mobile and convenient form factor, a key that you always carry with you", said Luc Pierart, business unit manager of peripherals and accessories.
“The LaCie Key products bring an ease-of-use to our customers making it easy to access, store, and share large amounts of content on-the-go. After all it’s a key".
The third key (drive) in the set will be the PassKey that allows you to use a microSD card to expand the memory further.
The LaCie Keys are available now starting at $9.90 in the US, while UK pricing will be from £9.
