YouTube has surpassed 100 million US viewers for the first time.

The phenomenal figure has been revealed by comScore's January 2009 data from its "Video Metrix" service.

American internet users viewed 14.8 billion online videos during the month.

Nearly 77% of US internet users watched video online in the time period, with the average online video viewed coming in at 3.5 minutes.

Google sites got a 43% market share of those billions of videos viewed, with YouTube getting 99% of that.

Fox Interactive Media came second, followed by Yahoo sites.
