In a wider piece about the use of text-message marketing in the music industry, Mathew Knowles, Beyonce's manager (and dad) said:

"He expected to use the thousands of phone numbers collected on her current tour to pitch a variety of products, including a Beyoncé-themed phone."

Celeb-themed mobiles, eh? Well, for music stars the potential's there with handsets pre-loaded with songs and ringtones while film stars could include movie clips.

It's a terrible idea, but it's certainly got marketing potential...
