Panasonic has introduced a new touchscreen model to the CF-52 Toughbook series.

The new semi-ruggedised notebook offers the usual Toughbook grrr-ness including being drop-proof to 30 inches, having a water protected keyboard and touchpad and a fold out carry handle.

The new 13.3-inch XGA touchscreen offers 1000 nit brightness and anti glare coatings claiming to provide "excellent clarity, even under bright sunlight and at various angles of view while out in a mobile environment".

Specs-wise there's a 160GB hard drive, Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 8 hours of battery life, Bluetooth 2.0, WLAN and optional WWAN (HSPA), 2GB RAM, four USB 2.0 ports, Firewire, and SD, Express and PC card slots.

The Panasonic Toughbook CF-52 is on sale from mid-Feb 2009 starting from approx £1851 plus VAT.
