Chevrolet is launching a new supermini – the Aveo.

A fairly interesting exterior is matched by a rather high-quality interior with soft-touch plastics and better fabric than we’re used to seeing from the car company formerly known as Daewoo.

Two engines will be offered at launch – a new fuel-efficient 1.2-litre unit developing around 90bhp and a 100bhp+ 1.4-litre powerplant, which will be available with automatic transmission.

Sales of the new model will begin in spring 2008, and more details will be available when the car makes its public debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show next month.
