EA takes Skate 2 to the streets of London
To celebrate the launch of Skate 2, Electronic Arts sent four British skateboarders out into London in a race against time that pitted the skateboard against foot, car and train.
The race spanned the transport trails from Waterloo to St Paul’s and then back to the London Eye, obviously with an aim to prove that skating is the best and quickest method of getting around.
Similar to the game, the four participants - which included Daryl Dominguez, Pete King, Kavin McKeon and Dave Slade - had to tag in at different checkpoints before moving on to the next destination.
However, Skate 2 is not based in London - the game takes skaters to New San Vanelona, a city that’s been rebuilt after a disaster 5 years before.
Equipped with double the bag of tricks, Skate 2 players are tasked to rebuild their career and revive the skate scene. The difference between Skate 2 and the original is that you can now get off your board and move objects around so you can set up your own challenges. These can then be uploaded and shared with other gamers across the world.
Skate 2 will be available on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 from 23 January.
As for the race video, it's above for you to check out. We'll give you one guess as to who wins.
