Philips to launch Aurea range of televisons - Ambilight's evolution

Will reveal all at IFA at the end of the month

13 August 2007 12:52 GMT / By Amy-Mae Elliott

Philips has announced it is to reveal the Aurea range of televisions. The range is described as the evolution of their Ambilight offerings:

"Aurea brings light and color to life in an unparalleled, highly visual and immersive fashion, drawing the audience into the full emotional experience Ambilight offers. Aurea marks a departure from the world of television as we know it today."

The Ambilight feature projects complimentary coloured backlighting from behind the television onto the wall surrounding the screen and claims to make viewing more immersive.

Pocket-lint will be reporting live from IFA 2007 (a tech trade show held in Berlin) so we will tell all then...

In the meantime, there's a link below to a viral/promo site from Philips with a dreamy sounding woman doing a particularly annoying voiceover you can check out.
