Anyone looking to invest in Killzone 2 next year won't need to put aside any hard drive space for the game.

Sony's flagship PS3 shooter will not install onto the machine's hard drive, unlike many console games on the market today.

This information was uncovered in an "ask the developer" thread on the official PlayStation forums. It was then that Guerilla's testing manager Seb Downie confirmed "we are not planning to do any install".

Asked further whether this meant installing it would be optional, he posted a nice, straight-to-the-point reply: "No install. Optional or otherwise."

Killzone 2 will be a PS3 exclusive and is due out in February next year. We'll get an exact date to you when we get one.
