Electronic Arts has ended any speculation that Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 will be released for PlayStation 3 before Christmas with a simple answer. No.
Earlier in the week, the game's producer David Silverman was quoted as saying that there were "definitely people working on a PS3 version", going on to suggest in a rather cryptic way that we could expect it before the year is out.
"If you're a PS3 owner and you don't own a PC and you don't have an Xbox 360 you don't have to write on your Christmas or Hanukkah list that you want to have an Xbox."
However, an EA spokesperson confirmed today: "There are no plans for a PS3 release of Red Alert 3 anytime before Christmas."
The PS3 version of Red Alert 3 was put on hold a while ago so the developers could concentrate on the Xbox and PC versions, but it was never cancelled.
As to what we can expect when we finally see a PS3 release, Silverman said his team was "putting in a lot of cool content and really taking advantage of both the 1080p nature and the high-defness of Blu-ray, and also the fact that it can hold just so much more space".
Command & Conquer Red Alert 3 is already available on PC, with the 360 version due out on 14th November. We'll get any news of firm PS3 dates to you as soon as we get them.
