Gamers dress up to break world record
Hundreds of gamers came together dressed up as characters from their favourite games to break a world record.
A total of 342 people gathered at the London Games Festival dressed as characters from games such as Final Fantasy, Zelda and Metal Gear Solid.
They managed to bead the record by five, following the previous record of 337 set last week in Germany.
Director of the annual festival Duncan Best, said: "It was a bit touch-and-go for a while but the gaming community really stepped up to the challenge."
There were a further 50 gamers who turned up but were unable to take part, as the rules stated the any character primarily from movies had to be disqualified.
"So we had people turning up dressed as Lego Batman, for example, who could not be counted," said Mr Best.
In the end though, enough fans were counted to beat the record, which was verified by Guinness World Records at the Excel Centre in Docklands on Saturday.
The London Games Festival is on until 2nd November in London, so there's still time to get down there if you haven't already.
