Fable II has topped the UK all format charts for the week ending October 25th, beating rival sequel Far Cry II to the top spot.
The game is the first Microsoft title to hit number one since Halo 3 was released over a year ago. It has also outsold the original Fable's launch week sales by nearly four-to-one.
Far Cry II put up a good fight, however, coming in at number two and pushing Fifa 09 down to three. Pro Evo Soccer fell below its rival at number four, having been number one the week before.
Saints Row 2 dropped from three to five, while sci-fi horroe title Dead Space debuted at a fairly commendable sixth place.
Wii Fit and Mario Kart Wii are still standing strong in the top flight on the run up to Christmas in places eight and nine respectively, while Midnight Club: Los Angeles rounded off the chart at number ten.
