Microsoft's third person shooter, Gears of War 2, will be able to become a family-friendly game at the click of a button.

The game will come with a parental control facility when it is released for Xbox 360 on November 7th, Microsoft has confirmed.

Earlier given an "M" rating for Mature by the ESRB, Gears of War has tried to calm concerned parents by giving them the power to remove the bad language and put sparks in the place of blood.

Microsoft has also confirmed that a version of Gears of War 2 will be made available as a limited edition boxed product, offering a 48-page making of hardback book.
