Mozilla has announced the second alpha release of Fennec, its mobile browser.
Promising an improved performance, Mozilla boasts "major strides improving startup performance, panning and zooming performance, and responsiveness while pages are loading".
Still only meant for developers and testers at this early stage, the browser can be used natively on Nokia N810 Internet Tablets running the Maemo software platform.
In addition, desktop versions have been released for Windows, OS X and Linux for those who want to experiment with the mobile browser on their desktop.
The team states they are also "making great progress on our Windows Mobile builds and are starting to roll on Symbian" but no exact launch time-scales have been revealed.
