T-Mobile G2 phone rumours surface
2009 is expected to be a big year for Android handsets, and to make sure it doesn't fall behind the crowd, T-Mobile is already prepping the Android powered T-Mobile G2 according to rumours surfacing on the web.
According to sources online the new device will be 3G capable, sport a touchscreen, have a 5-Megapixel camera with autofocus and flash, and come with the usual array of goodies you would expect from a high-end smartphone like Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
Phone site CellPhoneSignal has even gone as far as saying that the mobile phone operator will launch the new handset on 26 January 2009 just before Mobile World Congress.
In related Android news, Samsung has confirmed it is to release its first Android-based mobile phone in the second quarter of next year in North America.
Industry insiders are stating that Samsung is currently in the development process of a Gphone that will see a launch on Sprint Nextel and T-Mobile USA.
A Korean news source quotes an "official" of Samsung as saying: "We are accelerating the development process for Google phone in order to meet the specific need of local carriers".
"We will be able to release Google phone in the second quarter of the next year in the US market".
