Trixter X-dream Fitness Bike rolls out
Ever felt that exercise bikes were just a little too dull? Trixter agrees and have unleashed the X-dream Fitness Bike on the world. The X-dream system is being adopted by Virgin Active as well as independent gyms nationwide.
The system takes Trixter’s realistic indoor mountain biking concept and combines it with an interactive game resulting in a set-up that will appeal to riders and those looking to get fit in an immersive and fun way.
The bike itself is manufactured by Giant Bicycles and is connected to a PC with an LCD monitor at the rider’s eye level. Trixter hooked-up with i3Sport Software and Sumo Digital (Virtua Tennis, TOCA Race Driver) to round out the complete package, using the bike, sensors and software.
Unlike a regular exercise bike, the X-dream gives you steering, brakes and gears which all accurately change the behaviour of the bike on-screen. There are graded levels from beginner to pro, with a variety of tracks to attempt. You can race against the computer in Fitness mode, take the Quick Start option for a free and easy ride, or even go multiplayer, where you can link up to 6 units together.
"We believe the X-dream is the first fitness product to successfully integrate accurate real-life simulation, total body cardiovascular conditioning and a motivational personalised training program", Michael Rice, CEO and founder claims.
