Fiat has added a hot (more like warm) hatch to its Grande Punto lineup.

The 1.4 T-Jet 120 Sporting features a turbo-charged petrol engine without compromising too hard on emissions and fuel consumption. Available in both three- and five-door versions, the new T-Jet gets 17in rims, air-con, sports seats, leather steering wheel, bodykit, ESP and six airbags.

It also gets Blue & Me, Fiat’s own voice-activated music and communications system, developed in conjunction with Microsoft.

The engine’s 120bhp brings up 62mph in an OK 8.9 seconds and a fairly high top speed of 121mph. Fuel consumption is 42.8mpg on the combined cycle, and CO2 emissions are a solid 155g/km.

The T-Jet costs £11,995 for the three-door model and £12,595 for the five-door.
